Battle of Toro - 1 March - Indecisive: Prince John of Portugal defeated the Castilian right wing and remained in possession of the battlefield while his father Afonso V is defeated by the Castilian left-centre led by the Duke of Alba and Cardinal Mendoza. Both sides claimed victory.
Battle of Wofla – 28 August – Reinforced with at least 600 arquebusiers and cavalry, Imam Ahmad Gragn attacks the Portuguese camp. The Portuguese are scattered, Christovão da Gama captured and executed.

Sieges of Toishi Takeda Shingen takes the castle of Toishi after besieging it multiple times starting in 1550.
1630 Siege of Recife (1630) the Dutch captured Recife, in Portuguese Brazil.[2] This began a war over Brazil, which would see the Dutch establish a colony called New Holland.

Battle of Albrolhos 10 August – Spanish Admiral Oquendo defeated the Dutch after a six hour naval battle.
1634 – Battle of Nördlingen – September 6 – September 7 – The Imperial armies number 33,000 troops, the Protestant forces with 25,000. At the end of the day, 12,000 Protestants are dead, another 4,000 captured, including Swedish army leader Gustaf Horn.

Battle of Agosta Draw between the French and Dutch navy. Dutch genius Admiral and naval hero Michiel de Ruyter gets woonded and dies a week later. The French retreat out of respect for the woonded Admiral.
